I was sitting waiting for someone in the library and found myself staring at the cover of this book. It looked like it should be entertaining, so I borrowed it.  I had never read a book by Martin Amis before, but the book Lucky Jim, by his father Kingsley Amis is reviewed on this site at http://bookreviewstoday.wordpress.com/2014/05/19/lucky-jim-by-kingsley-amis/. Martin Amis wrote his memoir Experience  five years after the death of his father, writer Kingsley Amis.martin This was deliberate as Martin felt it would have been too intrusive to have written while his father was still alive. In it he recalls his often turbulent relationship with his father. Writing the memoir was probably somewhat cathartic.
